How Dream & Color works – A Step by Step Guide to Create your Own Custom Coloring Books

Introduction

There are currently 2 ways to create custom coloring books with Dream & Color with many more on the way. It's our mission to make it exceptionally easy for users to quickly (in 3 or less clicks) generate fun and new coloring books!

Presets – the easiest way to create custom coloring books

The first way to create with Dream & Color, and currently the easiest, is to use one of our built in presets. Our presets make it easy to get great results fast; whether you're a busy parent or an overloaded educator, you can generate high quality coloring pages in seconds with our presets.

Step 1. navigate to our Create page by clicking the New Book button at the top of your screen Step 2. choose from one of the many pre-made custom coloring book presets our team's created Step 3. click Generate and wait for your custom coloring book to be generated note: coloring book generation can take up to 3-5 minutes in some cases depending on how loaded our systems are

Upload your Own – upload photos or artwork to create custom coloring books

Dream & Color makes it easy to upload and convert your own images into custom coloring book pages.

Step 1. navigate to our Create page by clicking the New Book button at the top of your screen and choosing the Upload tab Step 2. upload up to 6 images Step 3. click Generate and wait for your images to be processed into coloring pages note: coloring book generation can take up to 3-5 minutes in some cases depending on how loaded our systems are

Custom Prompts

Custom prompting and prompt building may be available in a future release.

Edit – the Easiest Way to Create Custom Coloring Books

Once you have your custom coloring book generated, either through one of our presets or by uploading your own images you can get started by choosing the level of detail you desire for each page.

This step is optional, you can skip this step and proceed directly to export & printing if you're okay with the output from our algorithms.
After you've chose the level of detail that looks right for your custom coloring page you can begin masking out any undesired lines or further simplifying the coloring page.
Preview a fully colored page with the Show Color Image checkbox under the View section.

Export and Print

Once you've edited your coloring pages we make it easy to export your custom coloring book to a PDF for printing or opening in your favorite digital painting / coloring application.

To start, either choose Preview & Export from the bottom right of any page or, if you're on the last page of your book, you'll see a blue Export button.
Once the Export editor is open you'll see options to set the transparency of the lines and whether or not to add a border to the finished pages. Note: these options are applied across your whole custom coloring book.
Finally, click Download PDF to download your completed coloring book ready to print!
